Association of Non-Scheduled Operators

ANSO – Association of Non-Scheduled Operators

The association of Non-Scheduled Operators (ANSO) was founded early in 2009 as an affiliate of the Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa (CAASA). The intention was to satisfy the need to have technical and industry-specific support and representation pertaining to matters affecting fixed-wing non-scheduled commercial operators.

As one of the youngest affiliates of CAASA, it still has a lot to achieve, and although significantly shy of its parent association’s 70-year existence, it sees itself as a strategic component of the organisation, and an essential contributor for the future.

The main objectives of ANSO are to serve, promote, advance and protect the interests of its members. In achieving these objectives, the association has been acting as a link between non-scheduled commercial operators and the State, especially in respect to matters pertaining to the creation, amendment and interpretation of regulations.

General Aviation is deemed as insignificant contributor to the aviation industry, these operators, for the most part, were left to deal with arduous and often erroneous regulations intended of larger airlines, which contributed significantly to resource and oversight costs.

Thus the association has embedded itself as a bone a fide body and a relevant participant in matters pertaining to aviation, especially when events, decisions or changes affect fixed-wing non-scheduled operators.
